Did Rachel Throw Shade At Her 'Bachelorette' Suitors?

ABC/Matt Brown

I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, talking about the next season of The Bachelorette before it's even aired, but Chris Harrison tweeted that Rachel Lindsay is still accepting men for her Bachelorette season. So, maybe you shouldn't get your hopes up too high about the quality of suitors this time around. And if you're thinking to yourself that it's no big deal, because Rachel Lindsay deserves the best and we're gonna find it for her, please know that yes, you're correct, she does... but also the show has already started filming, so this is a little awkward. If Lindsay is still open to meeting more humans at this point, it suggests that she wasn't all that blown away by the ones who showed up, and that doesn't bode particularly well for the show.

This little revelation came about because Twitter user @rebmcdougall tweeted at Harrison, asking if the show was still looking for men for Lindsay's season, and telling him she had someone great in mind. And instead of ignoring the tweet or sending something back like, "Sorry, we're all filled up, but try next season," Harrison publicly responded to the tweet with an enthusiastic yes — straight from Lindsay herself.

Ummmm, "standing with" Lindsay where? Do me a favor and look down at your feet, Harrison — are they in or near the Bachelor mansion? Maybe surrounded by the shoes and feet of dozens of men who got out of their limos on Night One to begin competing for Lindsay's heart on The Bachelorette, the show that you are filming now and have been since mid-March? Does any of that sound at all familiar? It's a little worrisome she's interested in new contestants, when she already has ones filming the show.

What kind of shade are the two of you trying to throw at the Bachelorette contestants that Lindsay has met so far? And more importantly, what kind of wrench are you trying to throw in the works by adding someone in after filming has already commenced? Did Nick Viall's late entrance on Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette teach you nothing? You're playing with fire here, Harrison, and you're bound to get burned.

Let's make sure we get Lindsay a good crop of guys the first time around, so we don't have to juice them with random Twitter adds several weeks into filming. Just a thought. And who knows, maybe Harrison was just joking with his response. Only time will tell.
