I have a serious request: Can Daveed Diggs, as a human being, come with a warning? Because I am almost always caught completely off guard when he releases a new project or makes a cameo — and every single time I'm emotionally compromised. His latest affront to my well-being during a work day? As Entertainment Weekly reported, Diggs covered the "Rubber Duckie" song for Sesame Street and it's so cute, it's painful.

Listen, I am not much of a crier. But even I can admit that while watching the Hamilton actor perform this iconic song from my childhood, I teared up. I don't know if it's the fact that he's in a ridiculously adorable big, red bowtie, or that I fangirl over him like people did The Beatles, or the infusion of rap into the cover that has me mourning his performance as both LaFayette and Thomas Jefferson — or perhaps it's the combination of all of these things. But, there's just something about this cover that is so sweet and sentimental that it'll have even the biggest Grinch crying, then smiling, and ultimately bopping along.

I mean, if you don't want to take my word for it, that's cool. I get it. Listening to "Rubber Duckie" was probably not what you intended to do when you woke up this morning. So, instead, I'll up the ante and reveal to you that Diggs' version of the song has the Lin-Manuel Miranda seal of approval.

Honestly though, I should just let Diggs' reimagining of the song with Hamilton-esque hip-hop infusion speak for itself. He made the track impossibly cooler than it ever was, and I totally won't judge you for having a children's tune on your phone once you fall in love with this rendition and inevitably add it to your playlist. I promise.

So, yeah. Perhaps Diggs' cover of "Rubber Duckie" was a bit of an emotional roller coaster. But, that's what makes it so damn good.
