Adding to the list of devastating celebrity losses in 2016, Debbie Reynolds has died at age 84, according to TMZ. This news comes soon after Reynolds' daughter, Carrie Fisher, passed away at age 60. And in case that's not enough of a gut punch, Reynolds' last tweet may break your heart all over again. The Singin' in the Rain star was relatively active on the social media site, especially when it came to promoting the work of her loved ones. However, on Christmas Day, Reynolds tweeted a message about her daughter, and it was an understandably more solemn post compared to the rest on her tweets. At the time, Fisher was still in the hospital following her reported heart attack. Alongside a headshot of Fisher, Reynolds wrote:

Carrie is in stable condition. If there is a change,we will share it. For all her fans & friends. I thank you for your prayers & good wishes.

It's a simple post, but heartbreaking nevertheless. It can also serve as proof of how close these two were, and that despite the hard times that were happening, Reynolds still took a moment to thank those who were on their side. Unfortunately, just two days after Reynolds posted said tweet, news broke that Fisher had died in the hospital.

Following the news of Fisher's untimely death, Reynolds released another statement on Facebook. "Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter," she wrote. "I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carries Mother." It's a testament to the strength of Reynolds, that she was able to post such sweet updates on social media amidst such a major personal loss.

This whole situation is undeniably tragic, as it was just one day after Fisher's passing that Reynolds was reportedly rushed to the hospital for a possible stroke, according to TMZ. A representative for Reynolds could not be immediately reached, but Bustle will update in the event that we receive any comment.

To say this mother-daughter duo was talented would be an understatement. Fisher and Reynolds will surely be missed.
