There's officially a new reason to love Demi Lovato. The 25-year-old was already an inspiration for her music and her attitude through everything life has brought her. But now Lovato's Instagram flirtation with Henry Cavill is bringing her social media game into the spotlight in a major way, and fans are loving it. The "Confident" singer more than earned that track's title by executing a near-perfect thirst trap on Instagram, and it netted her what sure seems to be a flirtatious interaction with a literal Superman.

It all started when fans noticed that Lovato had done three things in quick succession on the platform. The first was to follow Cavill, the second was to post a completely stunning photo of herself in lingerie to her own account, and the third was to like a few of the Justice League star's photos.

It should be stated right up top that all of this information came from the page on Instagram that allows you to see the activity of those you follow. And since the Tell Me You Love Me singer hasn't spoken about her intentions publicly, there's no way to know what was behind the flurry of activity. (If anything.)

But, if Lovato had wanted to, say, throw a follow to someone she was crushing on in order to get herself on their radar, get them interested with a hot AF photo, and underline her own interest with a few well-placed likes on his photos... well, then she could hardly have engineered it better.

Now that the streak of activity has been pointed out, it has fans going wild, with many of them shipping the couple. (Especially after it was noted that Cavill liked one of Lovato's photos in return — one in which she's dressed for jiu-jitsu — and even commented, "This is awesome! Nice one Miss Lovato!" with a thumbs-up emoji.)

Before things get too out of hand, it should be pointed out that neither half of this (extremely) theoretical couple seems to be looking for anything. At least not at the moment. Lovato has done some dating since her six-year relationship with Wilmer Valderrama ended in Summer 2016, and shared what looked to be a platonic kiss with a back-up dancer this past New Year's Eve.

For his part, Cavill has done some dabbling as well, but has most recently been linked to stuntwoman Lucy Cork. The two appear to have been dating since about July, when they met on the set of Mission Impossible 6, and Cavill effused about his lady love in an August 2017 post on — where else? — Instagram. All of which goes to say that while your excitement over this possible love connection is understandable, it's not likely to go down the way you might want it to. So far, the only posts these two have liked of each other's are about martial arts, where they seem to have a shared enthusiasm. Whomp, whomp.

But, hey — the real takeaway here is to live your life every day with the confidence that Lovato showed in this brief Instagram interaction. It's a subtle reminder to love yourself hard at all times, and to go after your dreams. Even if this was never romantic and the two never communicate again, a little ego boost never hurt anybody. If you've got it, flaunt it, and both Lovato and Cavill have definitely got it. Flirting is harmless, and if it adds a little pep to your life — not to mention the lives of a bunch of your fans — then get out there and get after it.
