While chatting with PopSugar at the 2017 Grammy's this past Sunday, Malik Yusef revealed that his longtime friend Kanye West reportedly suffered memory loss. It's unclear if this was before, during, or after his hospitalization in November 2016. "I’ve been to his house," Yusef said. "Sat down with him for about 6, 7 hours. Just walking through his health and recovery." He then added about West's memory, "His memory’s coming back. Yeah, his memory’s coming back, which is super good. And just healing." A representative for West could not be reached at the time of publication.

Based on those comments alone, it sure seems like the rapper's memory was somehow affected. He was admitted to the hospital for exhaustion on Nov. 22, and E! News reported West was released from the hospital on Nov. 30. Despite nothing officially being confirmed or denied just yet about his memory, Yusef also told PopSugar that West is "spending time with his family" and that his son is reportedly helping him get better. He said, "Saint is getting big and he’s walking and playing with toys so, you know, that invigorates him."

But for now, according to Yusef, The Life of Pablo artist hasn't been working at all, either. "Not working. Not working. Just ..." he paused before adding, "going through processes."

As for the 2017 Grammy's, West did not attend, despite being nominated for Best Rap Album. Kris Jenner spoke to E! News about his absence and said that her son-in-law was busy getting ready for New York Fashion Week, where he's set to debut his Yeezy season 5 line.

Whatever West is currently up to or however he is feeling, Yusef makes it sound like his friend is doing better. Here's hoping that is certainly the case and that West will soon be getting back to doing what he does best — creating music.
