If Kardashian Baby Rumors Are Confusing You, Here’s All You Need To Know

It's been a big few weeks for Kardashian-Jenner conspiracy theorists, and some fans might be wondering if Kylie Jenner had her baby before Kim Kardashian welcomed a little girl on Jan. 15. Despite the fact that Jenner's pregnancy has yet to be confirmed, rumors circulated on Friday that the 20-year-old make-up mogul had gone into labor. Even though TMZ ultimately shut those rumors down and reported that she wasn't in labor, some fans still aren't convinced.

There's also the theory that Jenner has been Kardashian and Kanye West's surrogate all along. Those who believe this theory were further convinced when, on the Jan. 7 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Jenner sent her entire family (except for Kardashian) bright pink doughnuts, which some fans assumed was a way of revealing the sex of the baby. Other fans latched onto the detail about Kardashian being the only one who didn't get doughnuts, and theorized that the reason behind the doughnut diss was because Kardashian already knew the sex of Jenner's baby — but not because Jenner necessarily trusted her first, but because Jenner is Kardashian's surrogate, and therefore Jenner's baby is actually Kardashian's baby. However, based on Jenner's projected due, this theory doesn't exactly add up.

It all started back in September, when Jenner was photographed wearing an uncharacteristically baggy T-shirt. Shortly thereafter, TMZ reported that Jenner was pregnant with boyfriend Travis Scott's baby, and "began telling friends earlier this month at the Day N Night Fest in Anaheim, CA." Due to the potential for miscarriage in the early stages of pregnancy, most people wait to share new-baby news until they're 10-12 weeks along, according to Baby Center. If Jenner abided by this waiting period and didn't start telling friends until early September, it's likely that she would have gotten pregnant around May/June, which would make her projected due date somewhere in February/March. A source for Us Weekly reportedly confirmed this timeline, revealing on Sept. 22 that Jenner was "at least four months along."

Of course, there have been several other "clues" about Jenner's rumored pregnancy and due date since then, further proving that she probably wasn't in labor last week — not with her own baby, and not with Kardashian and West's baby, either. One of the most thorough and interesting timeline theories came from Mariah Smith, a journalist who recapped Life of Kylie episodes for The Cut. In a series of tweets written shortly after Jenner was first reported to be pregnant, Smith pointed out several details from the Life of Kylie finale that would support a February due date.

In the Life of Kylie finale, which was filmed in early May 2017, Jenner, her momager, Kris Jenner, and her best friend Jordyn Woods visited Peru. Kylie got "altitude sickness," which Smith guessed, in retrospect, was actually more likely a combination of altitude sickness and pregnancy-induced nausea. Smith then went on to point out that, while in Peru, Jenner visited a shaman who said that her boyfriend was "inside" of her and "looking at her." Combined with a few other minor observations, these details convinced Smith that the due date timeline was true. "[I] would hedge a bet that the shaman knew kylie was pregs before kylie and tried to tell her during their session! wow!" she wrote.

Whether or not there's any truth to Smith's observations remains to be seen, but her theory definitely supports the assumption that Jenner isn't due until at least February. And even though Kardashian announced her plans to have a child via surrogate around the same time that news of Jenner's reported pregnancy broke (Kardashian confirmed her surrogate's pregnancy on Sept. 28, although it had been rumored before; TMZ reported Jenner's alleged pregnancy on Sept. 22), at that point, a source for Us Weekly had long-confirmed that Kardashian's baby was due in January 2018, which proved true.

So, sorry, Kardashian-Jenner conspiracy theorists, but it's probably safe to assume that Jenner wasn't her sister's surrogate. And as for any news about Jenner's own reported pregnancy, we'll all just have to wait for February to roll around.
