There's always some pressure to be accepted by a significant other's family members. And that pressure has to be amplified for anyone in the public eye thanks to the added speculation from fans (and critics). One couple that's facing a lot of pressure right now? Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Do the royals like Meghan Markle? It's no surprise if you're wondering.

The obvious answer is yes, because there's just no way that Prince Harry is going to get engaged to someone without running it by the family. Not only would he likely want his family to like his future wife, but Markle will have to take on a very public role in the family, so she's not just joining a new family, she's also getting a new job. But even though they must like her enough, what do the Royal Family members have to say about Prince Harry's soon-to-be wife?

As expected with the formality of the monarchy, there were several official statements from Royal Family members in response to the engagement news. Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, and Queen Elizabeth have shared their approval for the future union in different ways from posts on social media to interviews to responses to paparazzi questions. The Royal Family members made it obvious that are embracing the idea of Meghan Markle joining the family.

Kate Middleton

Soon after the engagement news broke, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a statement on the Kensington Palace Twitter account, which reads, "We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”

But, in a more casual setting, Middleton was stopped by some reporters on November 28 and was asked her opinion about the big news. She said, "William and I are absolutely thrilled. It’s such exciting news. It’s a really happy time for any couple and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment.”

Prince William

When he was stopped by reporters on November 29, Prince William said, "We’re very excited, delighted for them both. We’re wishing them all the happiness in this very exciting time.”

And in an interview with ABC News, Prince William joked about the engagement and the fact that he and Harry live close to each other on the grounds of Kensington Palace: "For me personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge and will stop scrounging my food, which he’s done for the last few years!”

Queen Elizabeth II

Kensington Palace released a statement with Prince Harry and Markle's wedding date announcement and shared, "Her Majesty The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at the Chapel." The Queen gave the couple her blessing, so that is definitely a good sign.

Another good sign that the Queen is on board with the engagement is that Markle will become the first royal fiancée to spend Christmas with the family, according to People. Prince William and Middleton shared their engagement news in November 2010, but they spent that following Christmas apart.

Prince Charles

Prince Harry's father Prince Charles released an official statement on behalf of himself and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, saying, "We're thrilled. We're both thrilled. We hope they'll be very happy indeed."

Camilla Parker-Bowles

On November 28, Prince Harry's step-mother responded to the news on her own and had the best reaction. "It's brilliant!" she told reporters, according to People. "America's loss is our gain. We are absolutely delighted. As you can see, they're so happy. Sometimes in a climate where we're surrounded by a lot of bad news, it's a real joy to have a bit of good news for once."

This was definitely a departure from the more formal statements, but her genuine excitement is very clear, and it's nice to see her being so honest and even a little bit funny when she was asked to share her opinion.

As you can see, the British Royal Family members are already full of praise for Markle, and they're nothing short of thrilled at the news. As the wedding date gets closer, there are bound to be even more statements of affirmation, acceptance, and love for Markle.
