Maksim From 'DWTS' Gets The Cutest Get Well Message

On Friday, March 24, Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy suffered an injury to his calf that resulted in his absence from the dance floor on Monday night’s episode. Chmerkovskiy’s partner, Heather Morris, instead performed with troupe dancer Alan Bersten, and everyone was pretty hush, hush about the extent of Chmerkovskiy's injuries and whether or not he would be back on the dance floor in the near future. Well, it seems as though DWTS could be without Chmerkovskiy for a while, as the professional dancer recently underwent surgery for his calf injury.

Earlier in the week Chmerkovskiy confirmed that he wasn’t sure exactly when he’d be returning to DWTS. "Thank you all for so much love and support," Chmerkovskiy said in an Instagram caption accompanying a photo of himself in a hospital gown. "Please rest assured that I’m taking this thing very seriously and, although I don’t have a concrete return date, I’ll give it my all! In the mean time here’s me, making bad social media choices." (The last part was probably in reference to the photo that accompanied his note.)

Then, on Wednesday evening Chmerkovskiy shared a post-surgery selfie from his hospital bed at the Seeds Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine clinic in Ashtabula, Ohio. True story: According to People, Dr. Seeds has previously treated fellow DTWS pros Artem Chigvintsev and Peta Murgatroyd (who is Chmerkovskiy's fiancée). He's practically the official go-to doctor for DWTS.

Now I'm no body language expert, but Chmerkovskiy certainly looks like he's in doing well. Just look at that peace sign and his devilish smile!

Murgatroyd then posted a get well soon message to Instagram featuring the couple's too-cute-for-words 12-week-old son, Shai. "Wishing Daddy a speedy recovery from La La Land," she captioned the picture. "We love you and can't wait to get you back. Kisses from Shai."

Does it get any cuter? That "Daddy's Little Guy" bib is totally giving me baby fever.

"His spirits are a little bit lifted right now," Murgatroyd told Us Weekly this past Monday about Chmerkovskiy's recovery. "He's kind of looking forward to getting it taken care of and getting it treated so he can get back out and dance." Here's hoping he makes a speedy recovery and is able to return to the ballroom before the end of this season of DWTS.
