On Saturday, Nov. 25, multiple media outlets reported that former Glee actor Naya Rivera was arrested for domestic battery following an altercation with her husband, actor Ryan Dorsey, that allegedly turned violent in West Virginia. The Kanawha County Sheriff confirmed the Rivera's arrest and charge in a tweet and a press release on Sunday, Nov. 26. Bustle has reached out to Rivera's reps for comment, but did not receive an immediate response. According to TV news station WSAZ, the Glee alum was arrested in Chesapeake, West Virginia, where the couple was visiting Dorsey's family for Thanksgiving.

The press release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reads:

Mrs. Rivera was arrested, charged with domestic battery. After arrest booking procedures she was taken to Kanawha County Magistrate Court where she was arraigned and a bond was set. She was then released from custody.
As is always the case in criminal matters, the charge against Mrs. Rivera is merely an accusation. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

A video taken by WSAZ after Rivera's arrest shows the actor, handcuffed and being brought into custody late Saturday night dressed in a dark hoodie and pants while briefly speaking to a judge. According to WSAZ, Dorsey alleged that Rivera struck him in the head and in the mouth while they were out on a walk with their 2-year-old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey. The sheriff's office press release stated, "The Deputy saw minor injuries consistent with his statement. Mr. Dorsey showed Deputies a video made during the incident, which also supported Mr. Dorsey’s account of the incident."

Rivera and Dorsey dated before Rivera got engaged to rapper Big Sean in 2013. But just a year after announcing their engagement, the I Decided. rapper called off their wedding, and Rivera rekindled her relationship with Dorsey. The couple married in a secret ceremony in Mexico in 2014, just three months after getting back together, and welcomed their son in September 2015.

By November 2016, Rivera had filed for divorce from Dorsey, citing irreconcilable differences, though she made the decision to no longer move forward with the divorce just last month.

Meanwhile over on Twitter, the singer and actor's ex-fiancé Big Sean shared what fans believe to be a response to the news. The rapper, whose real name is Sean Anderson, posted a video of a little girl repeatedly saying into a camera, "I told y'all." Many of his 13 million followers interpreted the tweet to be about Rivera, but there is no caption indicating that it is indeed about his ex.

According to both parties, Anderson and Rivera dealt with some drama of their own throughout their relationship. Anderson called off his engagement to Rivera after a year, and released his 2015 hit "IDFWU" shortly after. Rumors circulated that the song's lyrics featured digs at his relationship with Rivera, and the rapper revealed to Complex later on that the Glee star did in fact inspire the song. The end of the song, which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, also sees Big Sean praising the end of his relationship, as he raps, "I just dodged a bullet..."

On the other side of things, Rivera revealed in her 2016 memoir Sorry Not Sorry, that her relationship with Anderson wasn't quite as romantic as it may have appeared on the outside, according to Vulture. An excerpt from the chapter, "My Best Worst Year Ever," describes the a moment from their relationship:

I started to realize that I was dating an incredibly selfish person. I shook Sean awake and told him that Cory had just died. He just said, “Oh man, babe, I’m really sorry about that,” and rolled over and went back to sleep. I was crying and kept coming in and out of the room as I went out into the hallway to make phone calls, and he never got out of bed or even so much as sat up and turned on the light. This still blows my mind to this day.

According to WSAZ, Rivera was released on $1,000 bond after her arrest. There is no word of a court date being set yet.
