Wonder Woman received rave reviews after the film's theatrical release this past summer, and quickly shattered records to become the highest-grossing action film directed by a woman. Not to mention that talks of a potential sequel to the film began almost immediately after its debut. But the records being broken both the film's star Gal Gadot aren't the only things that are making her seem like a real-life superhero. Following reports of sexual harassment and misconduct against producer Brett Ratner, Gal Gadot has reportedly said that she won't return for Wonder Woman 2 so long as Ratner is still involved. (Bustle has reached out to reps for Gal Gadot, Brett Ratner, and Warner Bros. for comment, but did not immediately hear back.)

Ratner owns a production company, RatPac-Dun Entertainment, that teamed up with Warner Bros. to help finance Wonder Woman. According to the New York Post's Page Six, a source close to Warner Bros. revealed that the actress reportedly has no plans of signing on to reprise her role as Diana in the movie until the film studio cuts ties with the producer. "Brett made a lot of money from the success of Wonder Woman, thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie," the unnamed source said. "Now Gadot is saying she won’t sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him."

In the last few weeks, Ratner has been accused by multiple women — including actresses Olivia Munn and Ellen Page — of alleged sexual misconduct. According to the Los Angeles Times, up to six women have alleged during interviews that the incidents took place in private homes, on movie sets, or at industry events. Now in the wake of the allegations, Gadot is sticking to her guns and wants nothing to do with the franchise so long as Ratner's involvement continues.

"She's tough and stands by her principles," the unnamed source continued to Page Six. "She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can't have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women."

This, of course, isn't the first or only time that Gadot has made a statement about this topic. On top of her Wonder Woman 2 request, the 32-year-old actress also reportedly backed out of attending a dinner back in October, during which she was supposed to present Ratner with an award. She also took to Instagram last month to share a special message supporting all the women coming forward with their stories of sexual harassment in Hollywood. The text post reads, "Bullying and sexual harassment is unacceptable! I stand by all the courageous women confronting their fears and speaking out. Together we stand. We are all united in this time of change."

When dozens of women began coming forward with sexual harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein that date back to over decades, it became easy to see that, more often than not, no action had been taken against the men that were accused of these acts. So it's pretty amazing to see Gadot using her platform to not only stand in solidarity with women at a critical time like this, but to also make sure that Ratner is held responsible for the allegations being made against him. Thankfully, given the number of celebrities who have come out in recent weeks and condemned the behavior of several other Hollywood power players being accused of sexual harassment, more women are being encouraged speak out about these experiences.

There's still a lot more work to be done, but Gal Gadot's request is a step in the right direction when it comes to taking action against the wrongdoers in these situations.
