Not sure what to have for lunch today? Shake Shack has solved your midday conundrum by offering a juicy, all-natural burger on the house, redeemable through Feb. 28th. Hungry weekday warriors need only to read on to learn how to get free Shake Shack, and satisfy their appetite at a discount with a simple tap of a button.
It has been scientifically proven that free food is a great motivator (really — an actual study backs it up), and Shake Shack is using this special sauce to encourage iPhone users to download their new Shack App. According to a press release by the company, all first-time users of the Shack App for iOS will receive a free ShackBurger at any U.S. location (with the exception of those in stadiums, ballparks, or airports). All it takes to stop those hunger pangs is downloading the Shack app, creating an account, and entering a promo code. The promotion is currently only available to iOS users, but according to a Shake Shack spokesperson, an Android version may soon be on the way.
Even if there wasn't free food on the line, Shack fans would want to download this mobile ordering system anyway. The app allows you to skip the hassle of Shake Shack's long lines and wait times by allowing guests to select their preferred available pick-up time from a list of 15-minute windows. Your frozen custard won't melt while you rush over to grab your order; the app will text you when the order is all ready for pick-up.

Download The Shack App For iOS
To nab your free burger, begin by going to the App Store on your phone's home screen. Search "Shake Shack," and the new app will appear as the first result. Tap "Get," then "Install" to download the app in just a few seconds. Once the installation is complete, tap "Open" to go directly to the Shack app.

Create An Account
The app will display step-by-step instructions for how it works. Click out of the intro to go to the main app page. Tap the three green horizontal bars in the upper left-hand corner to reveal a drop-down menu. The menu lists nearby Shake Shack locations, displaying any events and promos going on at the time, menus, seasonal shakes, and a nifty birds' eye view of the line at the original Madison Square Park location called the "Shack Cam." Click the "Log In" option at the top of the menu to begin creating an account. Tap the bottom option reading "New? Create Account" and enter your email address; then enter and confirm a password.

Fill In Your Account Information
Shake Shack will request that you personalize your account by entering your first and last name, zip code, and any allergies you wish to mention (an awesome feature so you don't have to re-enter your food sensitivities every time you order!). It will automatically sign you up for their newsletter, so be sure to toggle off that option before you click "Create Account" if you do not want emails from Shake Shack appearing in your inbox.

Place Order With The Promo Code “Shackappy”
Return to the main menu and click the large "Order Now" button at the bottom of your screen. The app will request to access your location to refer you to your nearest Shack accepting mobile orders. Once you choose your location, it will prompt you to tap "Order Now" and choose a pick-up time from one of the available 15-minute increments. Select your food add the items to your bag. Tap on the bag icon in the upper right-hand corner to proceed to check out. There is no minimum purchase necessary to redeem the promo, so you can add as much or as little as you want to the cart.
Fill in your card information and add the promo code "shackappy" at checkout to deduct the equivalent value of one ShackBurger (approximately $5.55) from the subtotal of your order. You will receive a text when your order is ready for pick-up — and after that, all you have to do is find the "Shack App Pick Up" sign to claim your food. No lines, no fuss, no muss. Yum!
