Fenty Beauty's Cruelty-Free Status Has Fans Talking & Rihanna Weighed In

Beauty obsessives are eagerly awaiting the Sept. 8 launch of Rihanna's Fenty Beauty brand, which drops at Sephora at midnight PT/ 3 a.m. ET. However, makeupistas whose animal sympathies extend to their beauty purchases want to know: Is Fenty Beauty is cruelty-free?

We found a tweet a fan screenshotted what seems to be a direct message from Rihanna. In the DM, the user asked the singer and style icon if Fenty Beauty products are tested on animals. Rihanna jokingly replied, "You callin' me an animal?," which she further punctuated with an "LOL." Her response appears to indicate that she personally tested the products on herself.

Of course, Twitter took this response and ran with it.

Bustle reached out to Fenty Beauty reps to confirm the brand's cruelty-free and/or vegan status.

Below is the recap of several DMs with Rihanna about Fenty Beauty, in which she also talks about the products appealing to and representing all women, especially underserved women of color.

Let's be real: It's pretty amazing that the brand is going to be so inclusive, and that Rihanna took the time to dialogue with fans. That only deepens the connection and furthers interest in the products.

While Rihanna didn't explicitly call the brand cruelty-free, one can't help but assume her comment means that it's cruelty-free.

This retailer also seems to confirm Fenty's status.

Here's an additional tweet regarding the brand's animal testing policies.

This blogger is also touting Fenty's cruelty-free status.

As you can see, it's a big question for shoppers.

The status could effect shopping decisions.

Fenty Beauty is still two days away and people are already here for it.

The high probability that Fenty Beauty is cruelty-free has fans further shook.
