Here Is Glossier's PMR Animal-Friendly Status

The Creme de Glossier has arrived. Glosser's Priming Moisturizer Rich dropped this week to usual Glossier fanfare, since it's the Internet's fave minimalist beauty brand. It's a thick, rich, and buttery jar of cream that offers intense moisturization for the face and neck. It differs from the original Priming Moisturizer, which is lighter, buildable, and comes packaged in a tube. PMR is $35 and is a heavenly, hydrating dream. But is the Priming Moisturizer Rich vegan? The Glossier faithful was certainly curious about how animal-friendly the product is, asking about it in the comments of an Insta post. It makes total sense if one's animal sympathies extend to their skincare regimen.

At first, Glossier responded in the comments that the Priming Moisturizer Rich is indeed vegan. However, VeganBeautyFinds commented that honey extract is in the ingredients list of the product description. Honey is a bee byproduct; therefore, its inclusion in the formula would negate any vegan status, since a vegan product contains no ingredients derived from animal sources. That's different than cruelty-free, which means products were not tested on animals during any phase of the creation process.

Bustle reached out to Glossier for clarification on PMR's vegan status but in the interim, the brand quickly noted its error in labeling PMR "vegan" in another Instagram comment field response.

This is the post where fans inquired about PMR's vegan status.

Here is a screenshot of the vegan discussion.

This all went down in the comments of a post showing off the chic PMR packaging.

Here is the screen grab of the product's ingredients list, which is posted on the Glossier site. Honey Extract is listed in the ingredients.

This is the updated response comment, correcting the error, and confirming that PMR is not quite vegan. So, now you know!

Obvs, the Glossier army, which is disciple-like in its devotion, also wanted to know if this cream would be included in the Phase 1 Set. Here are the comments, noting that Priming Moisturizer Rich isn't going to be added to the Phase 1 Set... at least not yet!

PMR is designed for all skin types and to be used under makeup as a priming base, a la carte to give you a little glow, or or before you go to bed, to soothe and replenish tired, dry skin with luxurious moisture.

It's super lush but if you prefer to use vegan skincare products, you need to sit this one out. Kudos to Glossier, though, for keeping it real and transparent with their customers.
