"Sign Of The Times" Seems To Have Left Spotify

Just when you thought your Friday was going well, Harry Styles' debut single "Sign of the Times" has disappeared from Spotify. It appears to be a glitch, so take some deep breaths and say a prayer that it will be back soon, but abrupt change does have fans wondering. Typically, when a song is pulled from a platform so quickly after its release, it means there was some mistake. Either some slip of the fingers caused the track to get unintentionally dropped from the platform, or that it was never supposed to be there in the first place. Bustle has reached out to Spotify for comment, but had not heard back by the time of publication.

UPDATE: A representative of Spotify has confirmed that the removal of "Sign of the Times" from the streaming service is a technical issue that will soon be resolved.

UPDATE #2: As of 3 p.m. EST, the issue has been resolved, and "Sign of the Times" is once again on Spotify.

EARLIER: But this leaves fans wondering if "Sign of the Times" will return to Spotify at all, or if they're doomed to have to wait until Styles' full album is released before they can return the song to constant rotation. You can, of course, still listen to "Sign of the Times" via its audio music video, also released Friday, and mull over the lyrics, but for the moment, that's going to have to be it. At least until the album's speculated release date of late April or early May.

When I go to Spotify, the single and its cover art still show up, which is encouraging, but the track title is grayed out instead of the bright white of an active track. When I press play, nothing happens.

So if that's what's happening to you at home as well, then don't worry, you're not alone.

Just cross your fingers that the song's removal from Spotify was exactly what it seems: a glitch.
