Storybook's W&W Palette Is Cruelty-Free, Not Vegan

Up and coming beauty brand Storybook Cosmetics is a hybrid of beauty and brains, thanks to its whimsical, literature-inspired products. Joining the brand's wow-inducing magic wands aka makeup brushes is the Wizardry & Witchcraft Palette. It's a 12-pan eyeshadow set that is destined to become one of the brand's hero products and/or a cult fave. It's a permanent product, not a limited edition item.

The W&W palette is packed with bright jewel tones and hosts a variety of neutrals. It costs $52, so shoppers will be paying about $4.30 per pan of shadow. Makeup obsessives with animal sensitivities are no doubt wondering about the animal-friendly status of this eyeshadow range. Is the Wizardry & Witchcraft Palette vegan?

The W&W Palette isn't vegan. It is, however, cruelty-free. That means that there are some ingredients in the shadows that are derived from an animal source. The brand noted in its Insta caption that an ingredients list will be posted.

That said, no animals were harmed or tested on.

Storybook Cosmetics' Wizardry & Witchcraft palette will be available to pre-order on Friday, Feb. 24 at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT. The brand was quite transparent about the fact that credit cards will be charged during the pre-sale, but the palettes won't ship until at least May.

The wait time is long because the products are carefully manufactured by Storybook's own lab for quality control.

Everything you ever wanted to know about this palette is posted here, from the price to the purchase limit to the palette's permanent status to its animal sensitivities. Also, we learned that every Storybook launch won't be accompanied by a pre-order.

This post confirms the amount of product you receive for the price you pay. Because #economics.

Storybook is carefully crafting its products. That should make them worth the wait. I love that the brand invites fans into its world with so much intimate detail. Storybook's Insta documentation definitely makes you feel part of their process.
