Apparently, It's Emma Stone's Fault That J. Law Missed The Golden Globes Parties This Year

If you caught Sunday's Golden Globes, you might have noticed that Jennifer Lawrence wasn't there nor was she photographed at any after parties, and now, we finally know why. In a video she shared on Facebook on Monday night, Lawrence blamed Emma Stone for missing the Golden Globes parties, and even though the video is less than a minute long, it gives fans a peek inside their adorable friendship. It's happening, everyone: These two might just end up being the official celeb BFF goals of 2018.

Lawrence is the only one on camera in the video, and at first, she's looking away so you can't see her whole face. Off camera, you can hear Stone ask, "What happened tonight?" and Lawrence replies, "Well, um, you had told me that you wanted me to be your date to the after parties, so I got us tickets to some after parties, I booked a car, and I was halfway through glam when you told me that you didn't want to go."

Then, Lawrence finally turns to face the camera, showing off the fact that only half her face is done with makeup — a result of sending her hair and make up team home when Stone told her she just wanted to come over and stay in that night.

By the end of the video, there is so much laughing from both her and Stone, and it really brings their friendship back to Earth. Sure, the discussion is a little hard to relate to on its surface— how many of us actually go to award show after parties and call over a glam team to get us ready? — but deeper than that, it's something we've all been through with a best friend. Someone bails on the plans, and the other person has to go with the flow. That's just what real friendship looks like.

So far, January has been a big month for this duo. Last week, their joint interview with W went live, where they both talked about their experiences growing up and working in Hollywood — and the story of how they met and became friends. They texted each other for a year before they ever hung out for the first time and bonded over the text messages they would both get from "John the Orchestra Guy," a man who worked on movie sets who neither of them could identify.

Just from reading the transcript, it's easy to see that they have an easygoing chemistry together. At one point in the interview, Stone asked, "Do you understand that spending time with us is just us sitting and screaming at each other?"

"We just scream at each other," Lawrence replied. "We're both hoarse after we hang out — us, oh my god. I can't imagine what it must be like for other people. We should never hang out, only with each other."

Yep, sounds like the most real form of friendship: the kind where the two of you together alienate all other people because of how annoying you become. It's pretty cool that Stone and Lawrence have found that with each other.

Their history goes back way farther than that interview, though. Back in 2015, Lawrence was spotted grabbing dinner with Stone and Adele (yes, that Adele, the legendary recording artist), so they've been pals for more than two years at least. And obviously, now, they're close enough to share videos like this one.

As cute as it would have been to have seen Stone and Lawrence out there on the red carpet together, it's way better this way. If they'd made it to the after parties, we wouldn't have this amazing video.
