She may be most famous for her own writing, but it turns out J.K. Rowling gives advice to authors every bit as beautifully as she writes books. On Monday morning, Rowling typed up a super-motivating Twitter thread full of her advice to budding writers — and it will make you want to grab a pen and paper straight away. After all, there may be tons of ways to define success, but however you measure it, we can all agree that J.K. Rowling's achieved it — in a big way.

After seeing a tweet that encouraged hopeful writers to finish their passion projects without worrying about what people would think of them, J.K. hopped in to add her own words of wisdom. The gist of her advice is this: keep writing what you're writing. Even if nobody ever reads it, you're learning something all the time. Whatever you're writing now will make your next project even better. Just because it doesn't get published doesn't mean that it wasn't any good. And of course, there's always a chance that it will get published.

Rowling referred back to her own struggles in the early '90s, when she was working on the manuscript that, as we all love to remember, would go on to be rejected 12 times. Of course, that rejected manuscript turned out to be Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone — and the rest is history. Now, if that isn't the most inspirational story that's ever been told, I don't know what is.
