Kim Kardashian Says North Would Make A Better President Than Trump

Kim Kardashian refuses to stay silent when it comes to Donald Trump. While chatting with Harper's Bazaar Arabia, Kardashian discussed Trump's presidency in a very open way that would have been even more surprising to hear from her before recently. The reality star admits that she is very careful when it comes to talking about politics. That’s not to say she doesn't speak up and give her opinion, but she sometimes chooses not to be as vocal for a specific reason.

"Sometimes I feel like I want to speak out more about political issues," the 36-year-old said. "You have to be really careful about what you say, because a lot of things can be taken in the wrong context and I always want to be respectful, I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.”

However, that’s definitely not the case when it comes to the 45th leader of the United States. After being asked who she thinks should be in the White House, Kardashian bluntly stated, “Not the president now. Anyone can run the U.S. better. My daughter would be better." She then elaborated,

“We’ve worked so hard to get to where we were and to have so many things that we were so proud of in our country, to just literally revert backwards is the most frustrating thing. Every single day when you can’t really believe what’s going on, the next day it’s something else even more crazy and tragic. It’s really scary, the world that we’re living in now. And when you did feel safe at home, now with Trump in presidency you just don’t feel safe any more.”

Kardashian didn't specifically explain the ways in which she feels unsafe, but the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has disagreed with Trump in the past, albeit not as passionately as above.

It seems that over the past couple of years, she's been more outspoken than usual about political issues. She encouraged Kendall Jenner in a November 2016 KUWTK episode to speak out about issues like gun control, even if she is scared of being criticized. "I feel like in life I've gotten a lot of backlash and I've gotten a lot of hate," she said. "So I'm gonna just stick up for what I believe in and what I want."

That's exactly what she's been doing recently. After Trump signed an executive order in January temporarily halting immigration from seven Middle Eastern countries and suspending the State Department’s refugee program, Kardashian tweeted the following statistics:

Then, in July, Trump made a major policy change by banning transgender individuals from serving in the military “in any capacity” due to “the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.” To that, the Selfish author responded on Twitter:

Last June, she spoke out against the U.S. Senate when it rejected four new gun control proposals in wake of the horrific June 2016 shooting in Orlando, Florida, which killed 49 people. “So sad!” she tweeted. “The senate voted against background checks being needed to buy guns. So terrorists on fbi’s wanted lists can legally still buy guns.” She added, “The fact that anyone can so easily access guns is so scary & after all of the devastating loss the Senate should have not failed us!!!”

Even before the results of the 2016 presidential election were announced, Kardashian made it clear who she would be voting for. In August 2015, she Instagrammed a selfie with Hillary Clinton and Kanye West. The caption read, “I got my selfie!!! I really loved hearing her speak & hearing her goals for our country! #HillaryForPresident.” She also posted a lengthy statement on her official website endorsing Clinton. "I found that without a doubt, I stand with Hillary. I'm with her. I believe Hillary will best represent our country and is the most qualified for the job,” it read in part.

In June 2016, she also spoke with GQ about her political beliefs. In addition to saying she votes Democrat and Clinton would receive her vote, she said, “As I've grown up, I decided what I think is best for me instead of what my parents would have voted for.” If you're wondering, yes, she also supported President Barack Obama and follows him on Twitter, unlike Trump, as she told Harper's Bazaar Arabia.

Obviously, Kardashian has commented on issues that she’s deemed important and isn’t afraid to voice who she supports in an election, but when it comes to conveying her thoughts about Trump, she's never been as expressive in her criticism like she is in her most recent interview with Harper's Bazaar Arabia. The fact that she was so forthright shows just how much she’s changed when it comes to being vocal about politics.

Say and think what you want about Kardashian, but continuing to further open up about where she stands politically, especially when there are so many celebrities who are afraid or refuse to, is something to be admired about her. Not only does it demonstrate her fearlessness, but shows just how much she wants to be in tune with the world, just like everyone should be.
