Love is in the air for Lady Gaga. After much speculation into her current relationship status, Lady Gaga confirmed her engagement to Christian Carino, according to People. Naturally, the singer made the low-key confirmation in the complete style during a lovely speech she gave at Elle's 25th Annual Women in Hollywood celebration. (Bustle reached out to Gaga's rep for additional comment, but did not receive an immediate response.)

The Star is Born actor was honored at the event, where she gave a speech thanking all of those near and dear to her. "Thank you to all the loved ones in my life" the singer said, per Us Weekly, "Bobby [Campbell, her manager], I love you. My fiancé, Christian. All the loved ones in my life who take care of me every day. And Ryan Murphy, thanks for giving me my first leading role [in American Horror Story: Hotel]. You know that Golden Globe belongs to you.”

It's a rather subtle way of announcing that she's officially engaged, but considering that this is the first time she's acknowledged the long-rumored news, it was also pretty major. In fact, there have been rumors about the couple's engagement dating as far back as November 2017, when it was reported by sources such as Us Weekly. The publication reported that Gaga and Carino became engaged sometime during the summer of 2017, with the talent agent supposedly asking the singer's father for permission to marry her. It's unclear if that's actually when and how they got engaged, but at least fans now know they are indeed getting married.

Gaga has kept her relationship with Carino rather mum, even though they have been reportedly dating since early 2017. In February of that year, Us Weekly reported that the "Born This Way" singer was taking the agent after they were spotted kissing during Super Bowl LI (in which Gaga was performing during the halftime show). Additionally, People reported that they were getting close during a Kings of Leon concert in January 2017, shortly before the romance rumors came to light.

The famous singer has kept her relationship with Carino rather private. Although, the couple did take a very important step in any relationship when they went Instagram official in October 2017. Gaga posted a photo on her Instagram Story of herself and her beau in a romantic embrace. So, it's clear that things were going well for the two.

Gaga doesn't typically discuss her relationship with Carino publicly. However, she did talk about him in January 2018 during one of her tour stops in Citi Field in New York City. And she couldn't help but gush over what a kind person her fiancé is. The "Million Reasons" singer said:

"When I went backstage, Christian was by the stairs making sure I was okay. The best part about being in love with someone is having them there to catch you if you fall."

Ever since Gaga and Carino were linked together in early 2017, it seems as though the pair's relationship has been going strong. And now, thanks to the singer's recent confirmation on their engagement, it sounds like they're taking a majorly important next step in their already lovely relationship.
