It's only been a few months since the Girls season finale aired, but Lena Dunham has already found her way back to TV. And judging by the sound of her next project, she could be playing a role that's like nothing we've ever seen from her before. On Wednesday, Ryan Murphy announced that Dunham is joining American Horror Story Season 7, offering fans who already miss Hannah Horvath the chance to reunite with the star on screen again.

Murphy took to Twitter to share the news shortly after an international promo spot for the season hit the internet via FX's Latin America Twitter account. Not much is known about the upcoming season, other than the fact that it will be based on the 2016 presidential election... and that Murphy has also promised the return of Twisty the Clown from AHS: Freak Show. Fortunately, though, that's all about to change — on Thursday, the season's title is set to be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con.

The only bad news here? Dunham's rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she'll only be joining AHS for one episode. And for fans who wish she was still on HBO every Sunday night, there's no way that will be enough.

And regardless of how short her stint on the show might be, she's already in great company. According to TVLine, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are returning, and will be joined by Scream Queens' star Billie Lourd as well as Billy Eichner and Leslie Grossman.

Earlier this week, Murphy also offered up another clue about the season to come: A man covered in bees. Between that, the election and Twisty, if AHS is trying to tackle every fear Americans are facing, it's already succeeding. An image like this one almost guarantees nightmares for those who watch the show this season..

This season is still shrouded in mystery, but all will be revealed soon... hopefully including more details about Dunham's character. Whatever role she's taking on, it will be awesome to see her on TV again.
