Well, if May hasn’t been a toothsome (toothsome, I say!) parfait of One Direction-related content. And what do you know? A week from tomorrow, there will be yet another fantastic layer to add to the One Dir-confection (I’m sorry, I know it’s bad, but I can't bring myself to delete it). In the wake of 1D's indefinite hiatus, the members of the best boy band to be cobbled together on The X Factor have been keeping busy, and now the one member who has yet to put out a solo tune has something in store for all of us. On Thursday, Liam Payne announced his debut single will be out on May 19. Can’t wait until next Friday to put “Strip That Down” featuring Quavo in your earholes? The 1D singer teased the track on social media, which you can listen to below.

I don't know about you, but I've been waiting for this moment ever since Payne signed with Captiol Records and Republic Records last July. Though it is technically his debut single, “Strip That Down” is not the singer-songwriter’s first foray into post-1D music: Payne provided the hook on Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J’s “You,” a demo that was leaked on April 20, 2016. A year and some change later, and we (almost) have ourselves our first official Payne song.

As far as music by former components of One Direction goes, May has been a month for the books: Harry Styles’ solo record will be out on Friday, Horan’s “Slow Hands” dropped last Thursday, and Payne’s “Strip That Down” will be out next week. Whew, does Payne's jam sound like a bop and a half.

Hey, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik? First of all, of nice of you to lend me your beautiful ears. Now for my big request: Would you both do me a huge solid and take a look at the calendar? No pressure, but there is a whole lot of May left. Do you know what'd be way cool? If both of you decided to release new songs before June rolls around, too. Really round out the month of May. Complete the 1D solo song pentagon, if you will. And I hope you will, Malik and Tomlinson. I hope you will.
