During Sunday's Super Bowl, the Schuyler sisters from Hamilton sang "America The Beautiful." Making the moment even better, the ladies added in the words "and sisterhood," where the song lyrics usually just say, "brotherhood." And while Twitter had mixed reactions (though many were overwhelmingly positive), Lin-Manuel Miranda gave the Schuyler sisters his stamp of approval. Soon after the performance, he tweeted a screenshot of Phillipa Soo, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Jasmine Cephas on the field and wrote, "AND SISTERHOOD," in all caps.
Considering that Miranda is quite the lyricist himself, he must take the words to songs seriously. And in this case, the change was a very cool display of girl power — so it's sweet to see his approval. It also shows how supportive he is of the trio. Miranda is also outspoken about feminism, so it's a no-brainer that he was all about this switch-up.
Overall, this update made the lyrics more inclusive. Granted, "America The Beautiful" reportedly dates back to the early 1900s, so it makes sense if it was a bit outdated. As a mini refresher, the original words are, "And crown thy good with brotherhood / From sea to shining sea." This addition of "brotherhood and sisterhood" was an empowering moment, for sure, especially since Soo, Goldsberry, and Cephas played a feminist trio of sisters in the Broadway show.

In my very humble opinion, the Schuyler sisters won the night before the game even ended. I'd bet Miranda would agree.
