'Marvel's Inhumans' Gets A Release Date

Marvel/ABC

You've been very patient, and it's about to pay off. Marvel's Inhumans has a premiere date. The show will air on Sep. 29, which means fans don't have long to wait at all for their next superhero obsession. The much-anticipated series will center around the Inhuman Royal Family, a clan of superhumans who live in Attilan, which in the comics is based on Earth's moon. We've gotten a taste of the Inhumans on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Season 2, in the form of Raina and Skye, of course. But the September premiere will mark the first time they get their very own spin-off, and eager viewers couldn't be more excited.

And how can you blame them? There's a lot to look forward to. We'll get to meet King of the Inhumans Black Bolt, played by Anson Mount, who will anchor the series. As Deadline reports, he's so powerful that he can destroy a city with a whisper, so this show will likely be action-packed from the jump. The plot will begin with trouble from within the Royal Family, fracturing the Inhumans and causing them to flee to Hawaii. It's a very different landscape than the one they're used to on the desolate moon, and it will serve as a backdrop as they try to bring the family back together.

And while Sep. 29 isn't too long to wait for the premiere on ABC, which will feature two episodes back-to-back, enterprising fans can catch the series early. If you can't wait for a glimpse into this new branch of the Marvel universe, you can check it out in IMAX theaters for a two-week window beginning on Sep. 1.

But however you choose to take in the first episode is up to you, as long as you do catch it. Marvel's Inhumans is generating a lot of early buzz, and the superhero love doesn't seem like it's going to fade any time soon.
