Some sad news: In a somber Instagram post, former Spice girl and current America's Got Talent judge Mel B shared that her father has died after a five-year battle with cancer on Saturday. Her dad Martin Brown passed of Multiple myeloma, a form of cancer in which a group of plasma cells become cancerous and weaken bones, according to People. According to the post, her father was surrounded by his daughters, Mel B and Danielle Brown — who allegedly put aside a nearly decade-long feud to be with their father in his last moments, according to People. Mel B's photo showed a truly moving three-way hand-hold between the two sisters and their father. Danielle Brown hared the same photo and caption on her own personal Instagram account.

Mel B wrote in caption reads, "It is with great sadness after a 5[-year] battle to multiple myeloma cancer our loving father Martin Brown passed away age 63 peacefully yesterday. Both of us his children were by his side and would like to say thank you to St Gemma's and all the doctors and nurses for there amazing care and support over the years. Please respect our privacy and let us as a united family grieve With love and respect."

Recently, there were rumors that the sisters were allegedly trying to mend the family divide when mother Andrea Brown and Danielle visited Mel B on set at the UK's Lip Sync Battle, reported The Sun, but Danielle Brown denied it the rumors in a tweet last month. The Sun reported that the alleged family issue was sparked by Mel B's marriage to producer Stephen Belafonte, who has been in trouble with the law multiple times. But it looks like Mel B and Danielle came together when it came to supporting their father through his illness.

This loss to Mel B's family also impacts America's Got Talent, which has canceled shooting days in light of the news, according to People. Before the season of America's Got Talent started, Mel B played Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway for eight weeks .

My thoughts are with the Brown family at this time as they come together to mourn this loss.
