It is a special night this Tuesday night because we have finally arrived at the Season 12 finale of The Voice. There were plenty of collaborations between hit recording artists and former Top 10 Voice contestants from this season. There were also enough cheeky bits about the judges and life behind the scenes to keep us smiling. However, the most poignant moment of the evening goes to Miley Cyrus, who dedicated her Voice performance to Ariana Grande and the victims of the Manchester attack on Monday night.

Speaking quickly as the band began playing, Cyrus told the crowd, "I'd like to dedicate this song to my good friend, Ariana Grande, and everyone who experienced that horrific attack yesterday. Our hearts are with you." Cyrus' performance was, of course, a true delight. Going at a bit quicker of a tempo than her Billboard Music Awards performance, this version of "Malibu" was full of energy and life, perfect when considering this song was dedicated to attempting to heal those who were hurting in the wake of a horrific event. It's clear that Cyrus' heart is deep in her performance; watching her sing, this felt like a truly special performance of her latest hit single.

In the immediate wake of the Manchester attack, Cyrus posted an Instagram for Grande in an attempt to provide some comfort and love for her friend. "[W]ishing I could give my friend @arianagrande a great big hug right now... love love love you," she wrote alongside a throwback photo of the two pop singers hugging in animal onesies.

Cyrus will be returning to The Voice after spending a season away from the show. Set to return for Season 13 with Jennifer Hudson, it'll be good to have her back on the reality singing show. Tonight's finale performance was a beautiful reminder that her heart is often in the right place and perhaps that will continue to be the case when she returns next season.
