Guard your frozen waffles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, breakout Stranger Things star, Millie Bobby Brown, has been cast in the Godzilla sequel. Much like the Netflix sci-fri drama asked of her, the Godzilla sequel will need Brown's skills. Lucky for them, she has a very particular set of skills. Skills she has acquired over an insofar brief career, because she's only 12. Skills that make her a nightmare for monsters like Godzilla. And frozen waffles. (See above.)

Though the British actor appeared on some American television shows pre-Stranger Things (she played Young Alice in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, and had a stint on Grey's Anatomy), it was Netflix's sleeper hit that catapulted Brown into the sci-fi cultural milieu. And then more largely, the pop cultural milieu. Brown's portrayal of Eleven struck a chord. Even though her character didn't utter many lines, there was something ineffably extra about Brown. In trying to describe her performance a few words come to mind (powerful, controlled, empathetic), but none of them quite do her justice. Especially when it comes to her final scene.

Right before Eleven's clinching defeat of the Demogorgon, she's (almost) completely physically and mentally spent. She's just come out of the sensory deprivation tank, which has drained her, and she's exercised most of her remaining energy to take down Dr. Brenner's associates. As she ultimately comes face to face with the beast in an abandoned classroom, Eleven uses all she has left to destroy the Demogorgon. Which she does just by looking at the thing.

One more time, Eleven — by herself — vanquishes a massive and terrifying monster just by looking at it.

Brown's performance in the Netflix series was so masterful it earned her a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. Additionally, she was nominated for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress at the People's Choice Awards.

Brown will reprise her SAG nominated role as Eleven in Season 2 of Stranger Things, which is coming to Netflix later this year. Godzilla: King of the Monsters will hit theaters on March 22, 2019, and will follow 2014's Godzilla reboot, which was directed by Rogue One's Gareth Edwards. The original starred Bryan Cranston, Samuel Taylor Johnson, and Elizabeth Olsen. There's no word on plot or character details yet, so it's not clear if any of the actors in the first film will be back. But, we already know there's a director shift. Michael Dougherty (Krampus) will reportedly be helming the sequel.

As for how Brown fits into the film, let's just hope she has telekinetic powers.
