It was an actual nail-biter, but after multiple rounds, we finally have the winner of the 65th Miss Universe beauty pageant. Did you predict it? Were you able to spot the winning smile in the crowd and find your secret hopes fulfilled? If you chose Miss France as the Miss Universe winner at the 2017 pageant, then you should probably play the lottery because those are some incredible predictive powers, my friend.

Miss France's win as Miss Universe will come as no surprise to those watching Sunday night's competition. While host Steve Harvey managed to steal the spotlight at times by constantly talking about his blunder at last year's competition, it was actually Iris Mittenaere who not only stole the spotlight, but our hearts, too. She was not only graceful and beautiful during the beauty pageant sections, but she was passionate and well-spoken during the question-and-answer portions.

According to the official website, during her reign as Miss Universe, Mittenaere will get to move to New York City and receive a luxurious prize package that includes a year-long salary, invitations to "casting opportunities, movie premieres, fashion week, sporting events," and the opportunity to further her philanthropic passions.

For Mittenaere, that will be advocating for dental and oral hygiene, according to her bio on the Miss Universe website. A worthy cause, and one she's very passionate about since she's studying to become a dentist.

The work and fun is only just beginning for our new Miss Universe, so I wish her luck as she starts her reign.
