On Wednesday night, news broke that legendary actor Debbie Reynolds died only one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher passed away following a heart attack. According to Reynolds' son Todd Fisher, Reynolds "just wanted to be with Carrie." Brb crying.

Reynolds and her daughter Fisher had a tumultuous relationship when Fisher was in her 20s, as a result of Fisher's drug addiction and later, her bipolar diagnosis, but the mother-daughter pair were able to slowly reunite after 10 years of estrangement. According to Reynolds, it took about 30 years for the duo to work through their issues completely, and the pair became significantly closer in recent years.

Reynolds is best known for her role in Singin' In The Rain and Fisher is best known for portraying Princess Leia in the original Star Wars movies, although Fisher admitted that having a mother who was constantly in the spotlight was difficult at times and caused a lot of strife in their relationship.

In 2011, the mother-daughter pair sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey where they discussed their volatile relationship and talked about how they had finally found peace.

“I would say that Carrie and I have finally found happiness," said Reynolds in 2011. "I always feel, as a mother does, that I protect her. I want happiness for my daughter — I want Carrie to be happy.”

It seems to me as though Reynolds died of a broken heart after losing her daughter. Luckily the two had mended their relationship over the last few years.

Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher made many public appearances together later in life.

The two had made many strides in their relationship, and when Reynolds passed, her last words, according to her son Todd Fisher were "I want to be with Carrie."

I'm sure everyone is glad they were able to fix their relationship.

The two are survived by Todd Fisher, Reynolds' son and Fisher's brother.
