Here’s What To Expect In ‘RHOBH’ Season 8 Straight From Andy Cohen Himself

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills returns on Dec. 19 and with that comes a fresh season filled with more drama, new faces, and plenty of fun. While chatting with Bustle about Purina's #DogThanking campaign, spokesperson for the brand, Andy Cohen, teased RHOBH Season 8. One of the elements from the season he dished on was the addition of Teddi Jo Mellencamp as the newest Housewife. "There is a new full-time Housewife and she’s great," he says. "And she’s really opinionated. And she’s young and beautiful and comes from, uh… famous lineage."

In July, E! News reported that Mellencamp would be joining the beloved Bravo series, but it was unclear in what capacity. For those unaware, she is the daughter of John Mellencamp, the famous singer known for hits like "Jack & Diane" and "Hurts So Good".

Based on the Season 8 trailer, which dropped Thursday, it's obvious, like Cohen said, that Mellencamp is "opinionated". At one point in the promo, she says, "Some of these women make it very hard to feel at ease." She then adds, "I'm not gonna back down when I know I'm right." Her opinions don't stop there, because Mellencamp boldly declares, "I think Lisa Rinna could be schizophrenic."

Yeah, it doesn't seem like she's going to be holding back, whatsoever. Even though she appears to make waves in the trailer, including with Dorit Kemsley, Lisa Vanderpump adores Mellencamp. While chatting with Entertainment Tonight in November, she said, "I love her!" LVP and Mellencamp are even seen bonding over Botox in the trailer.

As for the rest of Season 8, Cohen reveals fans will be surprised by who is friends with whom. "You know what, there are some surprising friendships that develop that if you had seen last year you would be amazed by the people that start getting along this season, which is nice to see," he says.

If you don't recall, there was a lot of drama between most of the cast in Season 7, but there was one argument that lasted the entire season: Dorit Kemsley and Erika Jayne's disagreement over Pantygate. It's unclear if they are one of the "surprising friendships" Cohen is referring to, but he does say that they get along in the new season. After asking him about a photo of Jayne and Kemsley hanging out together (below), he says, "They start hitting it off this season, which is interesting." If you take a look at the trailer, you'll also see they seem to have a lot of one-on-one time.

Here's hoping Kemsley's husband, PK, keeps to himself and doesn't interfere with their newfound friendship, because he'll probably only make things worse. According to Kemsley herself that might not be an issue. She told Us Weekly in September, "This season, I think that PK took a step back. He took a back seat and kept it simple."

In other news, Cohen also confirmed Camille Grammer is returning as a friend of the Housewives. Ever since leaving as a full-time Housewife after Season 1, Grammer has made cameos here and there on RHOBH. During her interview with ET, Vanderpump actually said about Camille, "She’s on the show. You'll see quite a bit of her, which I'm happy about." That is certainly good news to hear.

Even though Eileen Davidson isn't coming back, Cohen makes it sound like Season 8 is going to be a good one. Between a new Housewife from a famous family, Jayne and Kemsley getting along, and Grammer having more of a much-needed presence, RHOBH appears to be shaping up even more nicely than fans probably could've imagined.
