Rihanna Called Out A Commenter On Her PMS Lipstick Photo & It Was Amazing

When it comes to Fenty Beauty, both fans and the brand's creator aren't shy about defending the brand or explaining the ideas behind the beauty mega-hit. In fact, Just recently, Rihanna called out a comment on her PMS lipstick photo, and it was amazing.

Since its debut back in September, Rihanna's Fenty Beauty line has been crushing the game. From launching an incredibly inclusive range of foundations, crafting incredible highlighter, to launching a glittering holiday collection only a few weeks after the brand's debut, they've been on a roll. Now they've got a gorgeous universal red lip and 14 brand-new lipsticks. Clearly, Rihanna and Fenty Beauty have been busy. However, Rihanna hasn't been too swamped with her beauty work to reply to sassy comments on the her Instagram page, and let's be honest, that's why fans love her.

According to Allure, an Instagram user posted a comment that read, "You look high as shit," on a promotional image of Rihanna wearing her PMS Mattemoiselle lipstick. First, the comment is kind of unnecessary, and the brand creator appears to have potentially thought so, too. Despite what can only be hundreds or thousands of comments per day on her account, she happened to notice this one, and she definitely had something to say.

In response to the comment, Rihanna, queen of Fenty Beauty, replied, "or PMS'd." Does a comeback get better? A brand promo and a viral internet moment all at the same time? Answer: it doesn't.

Instagram account @badgalririlikes caught the exchange and posted it to their account. It's clearly a glorious moment for fans of both Rihanna and Fenty Beauty. After all, she isn't one to shy away from tough questions or to let snide comments pass her without so much as a glance.

In fact, this is far from the first time that Rihanna has spoken with a fan regarding her brand. Just a week ago, an Instagram user rained on the Fenty Beauty "Rihstock" parade, by posted "Girl 6 months later," regarding the brand restocking shade 400 in the Pro Filt'r Foundation with more to come.

While the comment did appear to have a bit of an edge, Rihanna wasn't rude to her fan but simply explained the situation writing, "Sis. we overstocked for 4 months plus. But what can I do when errbody luh da kid?!" Later, Rihanna even followed up her initial comment with, "Also what’s your shade sis?" seeming to insinuate that the commenter may be receiving a foundation directly from the creator.

The singer, actor, and beauty mogul doesn't just speak out on things like restocks and promotional images, though. She's also had meaningful conversations with her supporters like the exchange she had with a fan regarding Fenty Beauty casting trans models.

During the exchange, a fan encouraged the brand owner to cast more trans women in her campaigns. Rihanna responded to the fan writing, "I've had the pleasure of working with many gifted trans women throughout the years, but I don't go around doing trans castings! Just like I don't do straight non trans women castings! I respect all women, and whether they're trans or not is none of my business! I don't think it's fair that a trans woman, or man, be used as a convenient marketing tool! Too often I see companies doing this to trans and black women alike! There's always just that one spot in the campaign for the token 'we look mad diverse' girl/guy! It's sad!"

While fans did have mixed responses to to Rihanna's response, her engagement with her fan opened up a meaningful and important conversation about representation in the beauty industry.

No matter what her responses to her fans, Rihanna clearly cares deeply about both those who support her and the brand itself. If you plan to comment on a Fenty Beauty post, though, just keep in mind that Rihanna may be watching.
