Serena Williams' 'Vanity Fair' Cover Is So Stunning

Gorgeous and glorious. That's Serena Williams' August 2017 Vanity Fair cover from top to bottom. The pregnant tennis ace appears to be naked (although she's actually wearing nude underwear) on the publication, proudly displaying her beautiful (and quite pregnant) body.

Celebs posing in the buff and while pregnant on magazine covers is not new — Demi Moore, Mariah Carey, and Britney Spears, among others, have all done it. But Williams' cover, which is a side profile shot that finds her covering her breasts with one hand and her other hand perched on her hip while wearing a hip chain, slays all day and all night. Her long, black locks are blown back, showing off her beautiful face, as well.

This is a woman confident in her body as she awaits the birth of her first child. The image is as beautiful as it is powerful. Of course the internet is here for Williams' partially nude and pregnant Vanity Fair cover, as they should be. The Twitterverse is abuzz with lots of love for Williams, the image, and her pose.

There are further images of Williams posing proudly in the actual magazine feature. But it's her cover that we'll be talking about for months to come.

Vanity Fair

The interview itself focuses more on her career and her relationship with Alexis Ohanian than on her body, which is important — after all, she is "the best tennis player in history, with an aggregate winning percentage of 85.76 percent and 72 tournaments won on the Women’s Tennis Association tour (including the 23 grand-slam victories in 29 singles finals, not to mention 14 doubles finals with sister Venus). She has earned $84,463,131 in career prize money and nearly twice that in endorsements and appearance fees," as the Vanity Fair profile puts it.

She speaks candidly about finding out she was pregnant in the feature, telling the publication, “[I] “did a double take and my heart dropped. Like literally it dropped."

“Oh my God, this can’t be—I’ve got to play a tournament,” she continued to Vanity Fair. “How am I going to play the Australian Open? I had planned on winning Wimbledon this year."

Below is a sampling of the well-deserved Twitter love for this cover.

Pretty much!

Those are two very fitting words!

It's still early but there will likely be more love and adoration for Williams' nude Vanity Fair cover to flow through the day.
