Happy news today, sports fans: Tennis champion Serena Williams has given birth to a baby girl, according to E! Online. Williams and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, reportedly welcomed a 6 pound, 13 ounce baby girl to their family. Bustle reached out to Williams' rep, but did not receive an immediate response.

Given that Serena and her sister Venus are true tennis legends, it's amazing to see another strong woman added to family. OK, she's an infant right now, but you just know Serena's daughter is going to be just as driven as her mom and aunt. The news of the baby's arrival has already reached Venus. ESPN announced the birth just as Venus was preparing for a match at the U.S. Open, and she reportedly told reporters, "Obviously I'm super excited. Words can't describe."

This is a special day for Serena and her family in more ways than one. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the athlete revealed that her pregnancy was a surprise. She recalled one of her first thoughts upon seeing the multiple positive test results being, "Oh my God, this can’t be — I've got to play a tournament. How am I going to play the Australian Open? I had planned on winning Wimbledon this year." (Serena went on to win the Australian Open, by the way.)

Serena has conquered the sports world, and now she seems poised to conquer motherhood too. The powerful athlete has already smashed pregnancy myths, and now she's ready to embark on a new adventure of being a mom and a tennis champion. One thing is certain, given how successful Serena and Ohanian are in their professional lives, they're sure to completely slay parenthood, as well.
