The Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador has reunited with her estranged husband, and no, not like that. A week after they made their split public, Shannon and David Beador took their daughter Sophie to USC's homecoming game and posed for a selfie together. The response to the photo of the exes rooting against University of Arizona with their kid has been mostly positive, but because the internet is the internet, there were inevitably a few judgmental apples in the bunch. Never one to let a naysayer get the last word in, Shannon adjusted the photo’s caption to read: “Go Trojans! Still a family outing! And for those that have negatively commented, it’s all about my kids. Have a nice night.”

Again, a lot of people did leave encouraging and supportive notes on the Bravolebrity’s Instagram post, applauding the Beadors' commitment to co-parenting. Like one person wrote, "Good for you! You get like 99% pos comments. Don't be bothered by the rest." "The rest" being the handful of commenters who called the photo “confusing” and questioned the recently separated couple’s decision to hang out together. As Shannon pointed out in her Instagram post, there really isn’t anything that confusing about it: She and David are spending time together with their kids for their kids. And that's that.

On Friday, Oct. 27, People announced that Shannon and David separated after 17 years of marriage, noting that the OC Housewife shared this news with her co-stars while they filmed the RHOC Season 12 reunion that day. According to the publication, Shannon and David make a point to get together with their daughters every week for dinner, as well as attend different sporting events as a family. “We are doing our best to be amicable for our children," Shannon said in her statement to People. "That’s our primary concern, to act in the best interest of our daughters.”

Shannon and David's relationship has gone through a lot on the Bravo reality show, and that's putting it mildly. At the beginning of RHOC Season 10, Shannon revealed that her husband had cheated on her, but the two were determined to move on and make things work. And after some intense therapy sessions and a vow renewal, they seemed to be on the same page of the reconciliation book. However, by Season 12, the Beadors were back to resenting each other, doubting their marriage, and arguing in almost every scene.

She told People,

“As a mother, I want to be a good role model for my daughters. Three years ago I was proud of what I showed them, because I fought for keeping my family together after infidelity. As the last year went by, it’s been extremely difficult and painful to watch the show, because clearly I was in denial about what was going on in my marriage. I was taking things out on other people instead of at home.”

Of course, it's sad that their marriage took all of the turns that it took, but by all accounts, it sounds like they’re doing what’s best for the family now. Shannon explained to People,

“As a mother you keep thinking about your daughters and you have to say, ‘This is an unhealthy environment.’ Not only is it unhealthy for me, but it’s unhealthy for my girls, too. They deserve a happy and joyful home, and I am providing that for them now.”

Shannon and David's relationship didn’t work out, but they want to make co-parenting work out. So, if spending a few hours rooting for the Trojans together helps create some sense of normalcy while this family goes through this major shift, spend a few hours rooting for the Trojans together is what they will do.
