Shep Is Changing His Ways On 'Southern Charm'

It is no secret that Shep is my favorite part of Southern Charm. It isn't just because he is a shameless flirt and legendary partier, even though those traits do make him particularly enjoyable to watch. But the more I watch, the more I realize that Shep is actually insanely intelligent and seems like someone with a good head on his shoulders, despite his reluctance to settle down. And, it looks like hell hath frozen over because Shep has decided to curb his partying ways (for now, at least).

Now, before you go thinking that Shep did this out of the clear blue, let me explain. After a quick, casual basketball game with Austen last week that left him more winded than he would like to be, Shep took a trip to the doctor's office to make sure everything was in working condition. It is normally not a good practice to only go to the doctor when something goes wrong, but at least he went at all. Later, he ended up getting a call from said doctor and the results of his tests were slightly alarming even for his cavalier attitude. His cholesterol was elevated and he had some elevated liver enzymes, which can lead to liver failure if left untreated. This obviously scared him, so he decided to start taking action.

Shep even went to yoga with Katheryn and cut out alcohol for the time being. Will this lifestyle change last? Who knows, but as a Shep fan for life I support his decision to be aware of his health so we can enjoy him for years to come.
