Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle and director Rian Johnson have teamed up again, and their latest collaboration may give the “Woke Up New” music video a run for its money. On Monday, Darnielle released a track inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi that is is something to cherish and love (but maybe keep it away from your skeleton). Just how good is “The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All the Other Jedi And Eats Their Bones," you wonder? Well, Johnson has already declared it canon. So uh, I believe that takes care of that question.

“The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All the Other Jedi And Eats Their Bones,” as you might've gathered from the name, tells the tale of a Jedi who enjoys eating the bones of other Jedi. (“The soft parts you can keep, it’s the bones that have the calcium,” Darnielle sings.) Bones and only bones.

This brilliant piece of music came to fruition all thanks to a few tweets. A few days after Episode VIII 's title was revealed, Darnielle tweeted, “my five-year campaign to sell Rian on the title ‘The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All the Other Jedi And Eats Their Bones’ has come up short.” And then, Johnson replied, “WRITE THIS SONG.” And then, Darnielle did just that.

The rest, as they say, is a haunting ode to a bone-hungry Jedi who chows down on all of the other Jedi.

I will never look at parsnips the same way again.
