‘Boss Baby’s Voice Cast Is Seriously Impressive

DreamWorks

If there's one complaint lobbied at animated films these days, it's that they're rarely original. It seems that studios would rather continue old franchises than come up with something new. Case in point: Pixar's last movie was Finding Dory. Their next film? Cars 3, which will compete for family audiences this summer with Despicable Me 3 and — no joke — The Nut Job 2. But one upcoming animated movie that's undeniably original is DreamWorks' The Boss Baby, and its impressive voice cast signal that it could end up being worth the risk of trying something new.

The bulk of the film's marketing — well, pretty much all of it — has centered around the fact that Alec Baldwin stars as the titular business-minded infant. Baldwin is a huge star with great comedy chops, and the fact that he is starring in this animated kids movie is a huge coup for the studio. The movie even makes a reference to Baldwin's famous scene from 1992's Glengarry Glen Ross, which may not be very timely, but it's still a neat thing to include in a kids movie in 2017. But Baldwin's hardly the only impressive member of the cast, so take a look at who his co-stars are in The Boss Baby.

The Friends alum definitely knows how to be funny, and she plays the mother of the Boss Baby and his older brother, Tim.

As Francis Francis, Buscemi is the ruthless head of PuppyCo. and the villain to Baldwin's Boss Baby in the war between puppies and babies.

You may not recognize his name (or his face), but this longtime DreamWorks Animation employee has had a hand in practically every movie the studio has done — most notably as the voice of the Gingerbread Man in the Shrek franchise.

Clearly, The Boss Baby has a lot of talent involved beyond Alec Baldwin, which will no doubt result in the start of yet another new animated franchise.
