After just a few short years on the scene, the Chainsmokers are proving again and again that they're one of the best DJ duos in the business. Apparently, the Chainsmokers broke a Justin Bieber record, so if you somehow haven't listened to them yet, well, you should. Last week, the pair released their single "Something Just Like This," featuring Coldplay. After making its performance debut during the BRIT Awards, the song began streaming online and quickly accumulating millions of views on YouTube. You can guess where this is going.

The lyrics-only video tallied up more than a whopping 9 million views within 24 hours of being posted to the video sharing site, ultimately staking claim to the all-time record for views in a single day. Justin Bieber, who once held the single-day viewing title for his hit single “What Do U Mean?” was ultimately dethroned by the Chainsmokers, a group comprised of buddies, Drew Taggart and Alex Pall.

Taggart and Pall initially caught the attention of listeners with their viral hit, "Selfie," back in 2014. However, it wasn't until the release of their 2016 album Collage that the pair would begin to reach mainstream critical acclaim with their hits "Don't Let Me Down" and "Closer." Both songs helped them receive the honor of both a Grammy Award and an American Music Award, while "Closer" would go on to become their first number one song.

With all of that now under their belts, it's more than safe to say that 2016 was a hell of a year for the duo, and this new single, "Something Just Like This," most certainly seems to be on on track to become their biggest hit to date. Since its release on Feb. 22, it continues to be played non-stop on various streaming sites and has now amassed well over 38 million views on YouTube, and 29 million-plus streams on Spotify, according to Forbes.

Yep, the "Selfie" dudes did that.

So, yeah, if you're not familiar with this group, the time is now to get into them. It looks like they're definitely going to be around for a very long time.

And don't worry about the Biebs. I'm sure he's not too bummed about losing his YouTube crown. In fact, he's good friends with the duo and has been pretty supportive of them in the past, so Beliebers can get into the Chainsmokers guilt-free.
