How Well Do Idris Elba & Matthew McConaughey Really Know Each Other? — VIDEO

by Rachel Simon

In their new movie The Dark Tower, Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey play mortal enemies — Elba is Roland, a gun-toting hero working to save the universe, and McConaughey is Walter, the "Man in Black" intent on destroying it. But in real life, the two actors are, thankfully, on a bit better terms than that. Still, when I sit down with the duo on a recent day in New York, I decide to test how deep their friendship really goes by quizzing them about one another — and as it turns out, there's a lot of ground the actors apparently haven't yet covered.

During Bustle's game of "All Right, All Right, All Wrong" (fittingly named for McConaughey's most famous saying), I read the co-stars several statements about each other, some of which are true and some are most definitely false. Each man has to guess whether the statement he hears about his fellow actor is legit or not, and you might be surprised to learn which ones catch each star by surprise. Seriously, how does Elba think that Magic Mike was based on McConaughey's real life?! These guys may not be at odds like their Dark Tower characters, but they really need to brush up on their knowledge of one another's personal lives.

It's likely that fans know more about the actors' lives and careers than the stars themselves do — which just makes watching them flounder when trying to figure out if each statement is true all the more fun.
