If a 50 Shades movie comes out in any given year, then it's sure to dominate any conversation around dirty movies for that year. And thus 2017, with the arrival of 50 Shades Darker, has been no exception. But while the sexy bits of that film tend to be up for debate, there are plenty of dirty movies still to come in 2017.
Of course, "dirty" can mean many things. When it comes to 50 Shades, it's the type of dirty that involves sexual tension, actual sex, and a bit of kink to make things feel scandalous. And then of course, there's the more traditional meaning of "dirty movie," which is, uh, literal porn.
But there are plenty of other ways to think about dirty movies, and 2017 offers a variety of movies that are fun, sexy, inappropriate, or a little bit naughty in one way or another. Some of the movies still to come this year are shockingly crass, some are raunchy and comedic, some are hot and steamy, and some are deliciously realistic in the way that they approach sexuality. None of them, I'd wager, are appropriate for children, so be sure to keep the little ones away from these titles.

'Tulip Fever'
A 17th century married woman, played by Alicia Vikander, has a passionate, illicit affair with an artist (Dane DeHaan). Very steamy and scandalous and intriguing.

'Raw'
This gory R-rated drama-slash-horror about a young vegetarian girl who gets a taste for raw meat is definitely dirty. The MPAA rating cites "aberrant behavior, bloody and grisly images, strong sexuality, nudity, language and drug use/partying." Sign me up.

'T2: Trainspotting'
If this Trainspotting sequel is anything close to as dirty and gritty as the original then it deserves a spot on the list. The characters are older now, but I suspect there will still be some, if not more, "shock value" elements.

'Girls Trip'
Four best friends, played by Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish, Queen Latifah, go on a girls trip to remember in this R-rated comedy. The trailer promises many very naughty and very fun hijinks.

'Atomic Blonde'
I don't know for sure if this is going to be a particularly "dirty" movie, but I do know Charlize Theron looks just insanely hot in the movie's poster and the blurb for the film describes her character as "equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery." So, fingers crossed?

'Rock That Body'
A bunch of comedians (Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer) starring in an R-rated comedy where a stripper ends up dead at a bachelorette party? I suspect things will get pretty dirty.

'The Lovers'
I'm really excited for this one. The Lovers is a quirky romantic film that, based on the trailers, features quite a lot of very sexy sex among characters who are in their 50s and older. Non-20somethings often don't get to have their sexuality and desire recognized and celebrated onscreen, and this film doesn't seem to mock or dismiss these characters at all.

'Below Her Mouth'
Technically released in Canada already, Below Her Mouth, a deeply sexy LGBTQ film, will see an American theatrical release date in 2017.

'Bastards'
When it comes to Bastards, think dirty in the raunchy, "naughty language coming from middle-aged man children" sense. Ed Helms and Owen Wilson's characters are on a trip to find their real dad, and the trailer features a lot of them having to hear their mom's sexual proclivities and body parts described by men who have slept with her.
Gear up for some dirty fun, because 2017 has plenty more to offer than just 50 Shades Darker.
