It's t-shirt time — again. It was announced earlier this week that the Jersey Shore cast is officially coming back together for a revival. But this time around, you can expect to see more than just the cast taking a casual trip to Burger King to catch up over chicken parm sandwiches. Because, according to Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, the Jersey Shore reboot is leaving the cast's old drama behind and bringing GTL back to the shore. Ortiz-Magro told Us Weekly,

"GTL will stay in effect, it will always be GTL. You cannot have Jersey Shore without GTL."

The 31-year-old recently spoke to the magazine about his involvement in the upcoming show and said, "We are all different. We won’t bring old drama.” He also mentioned that the cast is still just as close as ever, clearing up a few rumors regarding tension between himself and his former castmates.

Earlier this summer, the rest of the cast — Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, Jenni "JWOWW" Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Cortese, and Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola — got together to film a Burger King commercial followed by an E! reunion special. Fans of the reality series didn't quite know what to make of either of those when they noticed that Ortiz-Magro was the only cast member who wasn't in attendance, but apparently, he wasn't able to attend due to business conflicts. He explained to Us,

"I had obligations and business investments I was in the middle of negotiating and finalizing in Los Angeles during the reunion. I did not want to be a part of anything Jersey Shore without MTV."

That's definitely great to hear, especially considering the rumors of cast drama that have surfaced since the series officially ended in 2012. Earlier this year, Cortese bummed everybody out when she spoke about the possibility of Ortiz-Magro being involved in the reunion after revealing that the cast shares a group text that he's not currently a member of. She said at the time,

"I honestly don't know if anyone has spoken to him about it. Right now we're in a group chat with me, Pauly, Vinny, Mike, Nicole, Jenni, and Sam. Ronnie's actually not in it right now, in the group chat, but we're all talking about it and we're all trying to figure out ways to make it happen."

Though Ortiz-Magro insisted that the cast is trying to leave the past in the past, it's safe to say that not all the drama has been forgotten. Around the time it was originally reported that the stars would be returning to the small screen, a source revealed to Us Weekly that Giancola is the only cast member who won't be heading back to the Shore. According to the unnamed source, despite filming the aforementioned Burger King commercial and reunion special, Giancola chose to sit this one out because she "didn't want to be around Ronnie." The source claimed, "Everyone was invited to come on the show but Sammi was the only one who didn’t want to."

If this is her actual reason for not wanting to be involved, it wouldn't be all that surprising. She and Ortiz-Magro had a pretty tumultuous relationship that involved a series of dramatic blowups, breakups, and makeups both on and off camera. The couple called it quits for good back in 2014, though there was speculation that the two were back together last year. Still, if there's any sort of lingering drama between the two former lovers, it's probably not such a bad thing that Giancola is choosing not to be involved with the Jersey Shore reboot. Surely her castmates will understand.

Despite Giancola's apparent reluctance to join the crew once again, it's at least good to know that there's not too much bad blood between the cast. It's been five years since the show was taken off the air, and many of the stars have moved on with their lives, personally and professionally. Hopefully Ortiz-Magro is right in that their growth over the past few years is enough to make for a GTL-filled, drama-free reboot.
