This 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' Teaser Perfectly Captures All Your Holiday Excitement

by Taylor Ferber

Arendelle is about to be lit. A new teaser video for Olaf's Frozen Adventure, and the beloved Frozen crew is hard at work to give their town a holiday celebration they've never seen before. The "Ring in the Season" clip debuts a new song from the 21-minute short film, which will play before Disney/Pixar's Coco (premiering Nov. 22). Elsa, Anna, and Olaf prep their surprise Christmas party and can barely contain their excitement — and it couldn't be more fitting. With the real-life holiday season approaching and Frozen 2 in the future, fans have so much to be ecstatic about themselves.

Now that Elsa (Idina Menzel) has embraced her powers, she joins her sis Anna (Kristen Bell) and fluffy sidekick Olaf (Josh Gad) and welcomes Arendelle with open arms to their Christmas celebration for the books. The brief clip shows a beautiful ballroom with a spread of food, breads, cakes, a huge Christmas tree, wreaths, and candles. It's the town's first holiday celebration in years, which Anna reminds audiences multiple times, singing, "This is Arendelle's first Christmas in forever." (This line also feels reminiscent of "For the First Time in Forever" from Frozen, which is nostalgic and amazing.) But really, this is a celebration no one will want to miss.

While Anna makes some final touches on the extravagant decorations, Elsa helps Olaf look as spiffy as ever. "This is overdue, gotta look our best / We'll be hosting and toasting the whole night through / As we ring in the season with you," Elsa sings. In anticipation, Anna joins her, singing, "The ballroom will echo with sounds of cheer / As we ring in the season this year."

While the three are bursting at the seams (because how couldn't they?), Elsa reminds them that the celebration doesn't truly begin until after the yule bell rings. They approach the castle doors to see a huge crowd of townspeople eager for the party, and their enthusiasm has already paid off. "It's the first Christmas I remember to date and it's already worth the wait," they sing in unison.

Just before greeting the massive crowd, Elsa assures fans that they're just getting started, saying the celebration is "the first of many to come." Olaf's Frozen Adventure chronicles the three creating Christmas traditions since they never got to experience any in the past because of Elsa's powers.

Loyal sidekick Olaf sets off on an adventure by going door to door to learn what families' holiday traditions are like. He learns about candy canes, Christmas trees, dreidels, Santa, fruitcake, and more, just in time to bring his findings to Elsa and Anna so they can throw their epic bash.

It's a good thing the featurette is making its way to the big screen because Frozen 2 doesn't hit theaters for another two years, set to premiere on Nov. 27, 2019. Disney, actors, and crew have been tight-lipped about the sequel, but fans shouldn't expect it to be anything less than amazing, especially since the cast has taken its excitement to social media:

Frozen 2 details will be as big of a surprise as the sisters' Christmas party. "I can't say anything, because I'm sure I'm being tailed by Disney," Bell told Radio Times in September. While the actor revealed she's back working on the second installment, she hinted that it isn't a sequel as much as a "story that needs to be told."

"I will say I was thrilled after reading it," Bell said at the time. "[The producers] waited so long because they were not intent on settling, and they didn't want another 'episode' of Frozen, where somebody gets in trouble, and somebody saves them. This is a deeper story, much like the first one."

There's no knowing where the adventure will lead, but in the meantime, there will surely be one hell of an Arendelle Christmas party.
