I have bad news for those who were looking forward to having the Shondaland Trifecta of Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, and How to Get Away with Murder back on TV — it's not going to happen on Jan. 19 anymore. The Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, and How to Get Away with Murder premieres will be delayed a week on ABC and will premiere on Jan. 26, according to Variety. So why the delay? 20/20 is airing a Donald Trump inauguration special on Jan. 19 — the night #TGIT was meant to return and relieve all cliffhanger-related woes.

Instead, here's what ABC viewers can expect on Jan. 19: reruns of Grey’s Anatomy at 8 p.m. and Scandal at 9 p.m. followed by America’s First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington at 10 p.m. It might not be as thrilling as all the mysteries on HTGAWM or as awesome as Olivia Pope on Scandal, but it doesn't hurt to take a look at the various family members behind the new President Donald Trump, who will be officially inaugurated into the presidency on Jan. 21. According to Variety, the network decided to make the scheduling move so they could host this important special while keeping TGIT's programming intact with three new episodes.

ABC is doing the job of reporting on the most pressing news, while also keeping fans happy with the promised intact three-hour block of new television. Regardless of your opinions of the Trump family or even #TGIT programming, at least it can be the said the network is thinking of its viewers

For now, we get an extra week to build excitement for new and exciting episodes of our favorite Shondaland shows. And who knows, maybe we'll even get a better understanding, or at least more knowledge, of the man who's going to hold this nation's highest office.

Whatever happens, it's certain that Jan. 26, when we finally see the return of #TGIT, is going to be a much-awaited day!
