That 'GOT' Season 7 Promo Song Is So Haunting

HBO

It's almost time for Game of Thrones' big return, and as fans gear up for the huge July 16 HBO premiere, many have questions. No, not just about the epic battle to come, but about the song in the new Game Of Thrones Season 7 trailer. I know I'm not the only one wondering. The tune is a track entitled "Sit Down" by the English rock band, James, with lyrics that melodramatically tease, “In love, in fear, in hate, in tears.”

"Sit Down," which was originally released in 1989, only reached number 77 on the U.K. singles chart, according to The Guardian. The song would later find larger success in 1991, going on to become the 20th best-selling single in the U.K. due to a second release. The song would again see a third revival in 1998, and has been highly regarded in the Manchester music scene. In 2013, it was listed as one of the greatest tracks to miss out on the number one spot on the U.K. charts, according to a BBC poll.

With this song in the background, the new Game of Thrones trailer offers a thrilling peek into the upcoming season on the wildly popular fantasy drama series.

During the short intro, fans get to catch a glimpse of three integral characters enter to make there way to a throne. And drama, for sure, seems to be the name of the game for Season 7 with Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and Cersei Lannister intensely marching their way to take their seats in preparation for the war in Westeros.

I'm sure this season will be chockfull of excitement as we will finally get to see who truly rules the Seven Kingdoms.
