Dare to admit that no one does a bob quite like Taraji P. Henson. She truly outdid her usual style with the softest, wispy curls and golden tufts poking though her bob. Slay on mama, slay on!

2. Janelle Monae

Monae has been on a roll as of late, showcasing the most daring hairstyles, accessorized to the nines. Opting for a tight pixie cut, she looked like a goddess IRL with golden embellishments at her crown.

Such a flattering cut for the songstress, Monae looked beyond gorgeous no matter which way she turned and dazzled.

3. Mimi Valdés

If you didn't know Pharell's creative director, Mimi Valdés, prior to the Oscars, you'll definitely know her now by her majestic AF 'do. Rocking a silvery-grey crown braid was a risky move for the Oscars, but one that paid off beautifully.

Those silver tendrils hanging effortlessly at each side were pure magic.

4. Ava DuVernay

It's not the typical style spotted on the red carpet, but it was certainly one of the best when Ava DuVernay made a grand entrance in locs. Joined at the top in a mini, twisted updo with the back flowing freely, she sported a half-up, half-down style. Her entire look for the evening was head to toe perfection.

5. Pauletta Washington

Posing beside hubby Denzel, Pauletta Washington was all smiles with a glow as radiant as the sheen from her twisted tresses. It was nothing short of captivating, swirling and interlocking into the neatest bun.

Truly a stunner from every angle, Washington's updo was a sight to see from the back too.

6. Viola Davis

Viola Davis was definitely giving off major Rihanna circa 2008 vibes, and she rocked every bit of it. The hair wasn't unusual or new, but somehow, it was the perfect compliment to that high-necked gown. Side swept bangs were a nice fit to frame her face and highlighted accents gave the look delicate dimension.

7. Halle Berry

Berry's mega voluminous curls are a long way from her signature pixie cut, and at first, the look is kind of jarring. However, theres something to be said about the fact that Berry did something so far from her norm. Stare at the photo for awhile: It's hard not to fall in love with her bouncy, golden mane.

And so the long wait until the next Academy Awards show begins. These flawless looks from last night's ceremony makes the anticipation of next year's slay so difficult to bear.
