The 'Big Little Lies' Kids Adorably Reunite

Another day, another hint that Big Little Lies Season 2 may be on the way. Just days after Reese Witherspoon took to Instagram to share a photo of herself hanging out in director's chairs with Laura Dern and Nicole Kidman, three of the Big Little Lies kids had a reunion in New York City. Iain Armitage — the adorable Ziggy — and twins Nicholas and Cameron Crovetti spent some quality time together in the Big Apple. Armitage documented the fun on his Instagram page, and while the kids could have just been missing each other, a second Big Little Lies reunion in the same week should have your eyebrows firmly raised.

The cast is sticking together, and everyone should keep their fingers crossed that it's not just because they all got so close on set. What makes this particular reunion a tad bit suspicious is that — spoiler alert — the finale revealed that Ziggy and Celeste's twins, Max and Josh, were half-brothers. It seems likely that any potential Season 2 would feature Celeste and Jane allowing the boys to bond, even if they choose not to tell the kids that they are siblings.

Big Little Lies' open-ended finale left plenty of stories for a second season to delve into. Between Witherspoon writing on Instagram that she's "working on some new lies," Liane Moriarty — author of the book on which the series was based — revealing to the Sydney Morning Herald that the show's producers have asked her to work on new ideas, and now three of the show's most pivotal young characters reuniting, it certainly feels like something is up with the Big Little Lies gang.

The only thing I know for sure at this point is the kids are still among the most adorable on the planet. They are also crazy busy, especially Armitage. One thing that could stand in the way of a potential Season 2 could be the schedules of the show's stars. Little Armitage has three movies coming up, and he was recently cast as the lead in The Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon.

His older castmates are just as busy. Witherspoon has a whopping four movies set to come out in the next two years, Kidman is filming two new movies at the moment, Shailene Woodley is attached to Adrift, Dern has a host of projects in the works, and Zoë Kravitz has been cast in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2. It seems whether or not a second season of Big Little Lies happens may come down to scheduling.

Hopefully, these two reunions of core castmembers happening so close together is no coincidence. There are lots of reasons Big Little Lies Season 2 needs to happen, and seeing Ziggy, Josh, and Max becoming closer as their moms bond is one of them.
