This Incredible Clue That Bran Is The Night King Was Hidden In The 'GoT' Season 7 Finale

On the Game of Thrones Season 7 finale, the Night King, with help from his recently acquired dragon, slayed the Wall, allowing the White Walkers to march right through. According to Reddit user sannybop, what you may not have noticed is that when the White Walkers passed the wall, they appeared to form a wolf during an aerial shot. And this could be yet another clue that Bran Stark is the Night King.

As Marie Claire pointed out, sannybop noticed that the White Walkers seemed to form the Stark sigil as they marched through the Wall that just came tumbling down. And it's true that it does appear that the army of the dead made the shape of the direwolf head that represents House Stark when making their way south. While certainly impressive — seriously, check out that detail — what's most interesting about this discovery is that it could hint that Bran is actually the Night King on Game of Thrones. The theory has been out there for a while now, but this new development can't be a coincidence, could it?

As the theory goes, Bran, as the Three-Eyed Raven, can see into the past and the present, so he goes back in time to whisper to Aegon Targaryen in hopes of stopping the White Walker's invasion before it even begins. He tells Aegon to set fire to the White Walkers. When that doesn't work, he builds the Wall as Bran the Builder. He then travels back to when the Night King was first created by the Children of the Forest, who thought the White Walkers would protect them. Unfortunately, Bran ends up being stabbed in the heart by Dragonglass and becomes the Night King.

The Night King is a mysterious character who we first saw in Season 4, having a human baby getting taken to him before turning it into a White Walker. Bran sees him in Season 6, witnessing how a man was turned into terrifying figure. Not long after, Bran is touched by the Night King during a vision — he grabs Bran's arm and leaves a mark.

Besides the wolf sigil formation, there have been other subtle clues that could reveal Bran is the Night King. This includes their similar fashion choices. When the Night King pops up in Season 7, he appears to be wearing the same black long-sleeved top over a skirt. Chalk that up to being the appropriate attire for the winter all you want, but Sansa Stark actress Sophie Turner told Refinery29 earlier this year that her hairstyles are clues of what's going on in Sansa's life. Why would Bran's costumes be any different?

Of course, the Night King could just be a petty kind of guy and formed the sigil to get back at Jon Snow, the bastard son of Ned Stark. Jon Snow, after all, was the keeper of the Wall, and now, as King of the North, he's the Night King's biggest adversary. The joke may be on him, though, since Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. That could be a sign that Jon Snow is Azor Ahai, but we'll keep it to one GOT theory per post.

One thing's for sure, though: Season 8 of Game of Thrones is going to be very interesting, whether Bran is the Night King or not.
