Tinsley's Love Life Shouldn't Be Up For Debate On 'RHONY'

Heidi Gutman/Bravo

Tinsley Mortimer is new to Real Housewives Of New York, but I feel like I already know a ton about her. No, it’s not because she was one of the “it” girls of the early 2000s, but mostly because she talks about how she’s single at every given moment possible. The other Housewives are encouraging her to get back on that horse, but Tinsley went out with a younger guy on Real Housewives Of New York, and Sonja and Ramona don’t really approve. (Because apparently it's totally their business. Only not.)

Earlier in Tinsley’s inaugural season, she and Sonja made a list of qualities that Tinsley’s next love should have. Tinsley wants to have kids, so that has to be on the table, and he has to be mature and funny, whatever. Except what the brain wants is not necessarily what the heart (or other body parts) want, and when Tinsley joined Sonja and Ramona for a night on the town, she found herself immediately drawn to the youngest dude in the room. Chad, to his credit, is 23, which isn’t crazy young (especially because Tinsley is only 41 anyway and also because age doesn't matter) but also, according to Ramona and Sonja, not on Tinsley’s list. Sonja is one to talk, because she dates younger all the time, but I digress. Tinsley made out with Chad a little, and they went out on a date later, and it all seemed just fine. It was funny when Chad got carded at their bowling date (probably because it was a bowling date), but all in all harmless. So why would Sonja and Ramona give her a hard time about it?

Beats me. I think it has something to do with not wanting to lose a member of their single girls troupe. But, Tinsley was with the same guy for like 20 years of her 41-year life, so why don’t we let her have some fun now that she's divorced? She doesn’t have to marry the first guy she kisses that’s not her husband. Tinsley can let her flag fly, and who cares what Sonja and Ramona think?
