The countdown to the Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 premiere is officially on, and with May 5 just a couple of weeks away, new details about the long-awaited sequel are finally starting to emerge. Aside from the full-time inclusion of Baby Groot, this piece of news may be my favorite. According to Entertainment Weekly, This Is Us star Chris Sullivan is in GOTG, Vol. 2, but he will be virtually unrecognizable to Toby fans, thanks to some seriously impressive makeup.

I think it's safe to say Sullivan is having a bit of a moment. In 2016, he landed a memorable guest spot in Stranger Things before starring as the lovable Toby on This Is Us. Toby and Kate's relationship was a highlight of Season 1, and made Sullivan one of TV's newest breakout stars.

Now the actor is going to be in one of the summer's most highly anticipated films, and he gets to play an alien. Trust me, if you want to spot Sullivan, you are going to need details on his character because, as he revealed in his EW interview, it took between two and three hours in the makeup chair everyday to create the look for space pirate Taserface.

Yes, Taserface. The character is working with Yondu's crew, and is head of the Ravagers. From his description, it's safe to say, Taserface is not the kind of guy you would want to hang out with for long. He's described as loud and a bit of a bully — and in an interview with ComicBook.com, director James Gunn explained,

"I think in this movie, we have the head of the Ravagers as a real dumbass. A very powerful guy. I decided he named himself and called himself Taserface."

Take a look at Sullivan in full makeup. Impressive, right?

In the comics, Taserface is a villain who causes the Guardians a fair amount of trouble. Eventually he changes his strange moniker, and becomes known as Overkill, which is an equally hilarious supervillain name. In terms of power, he is incredibly strong and has weaponized hands — although it's unclear if that last detail will make it into the film.

One thing is certain, Taserface is a long way from the funny and sweet Toby. This Is Us fans are in for a major surprise when they see just how scary Sullivan can be. Whether or not the character turns out to be more silly than terrifying, Sullivan strikes an imposing figure. It's going to be interesting to see the gifted actor literally disappear into his GOTG, Vol. 2 role this May.
