Twitter Loves The Miss Universe 2017 Gowns

Another year, another Miss Universe contest, and Sunday's show was sure to bring some laughs from host Steve Harvey and a whole new crowd of 2017 Miss Universe gowns. Judging by the commercials and trailers of the event, I was expecting the usual glitz and glam that accompanies the Miss Universe pageant, and the gowns this year definitely did not disappoint.

From Miss Philippines' stunning red number to Miss France's gorgeous embroidered gown that took weeks to make, to the gorgeous red long-sleeved pick from Miss USA, the final nine brought their A-game to the stage as they showed off their picks in front of the cheering crowd. I also love that the contestants took more risks with fashion this year — instead of one sparkly strapless dress after another, the dresses were interesting and showcased all the different cultures of the contestants brilliantly.

Although I had my favorite gowns of course, Twitter of course had some pretty strong opinions about which gowns they like (and didn't like). One of my favorite parts about watching awards shows is seeing the hilarious reactions and gifs that avid tweeters come up with as reactions, and this year didn't disappoint.

Here are some of Twitter's favorite looks.

Miss France and Miss Colombia's sparkly dresses were popular.

The North American countries brought some serious sparkle as well.

Red was a popular choice as well.

Thailand's black bedazzled crop top gown was one of my favorites as well.

Colombia's strapless gold gown was popular.

I have to agree with this one.

Some of the gowns took months to create — they were truly one of a kind.
