Jenna Got A Mysterious Book On 'Pretty Little Liars'

Pretty Little Liars' Season 7B premiere, "Playtime," ended with Jenna getting some serious information from A.D., courtesy of a secret book written in braille. So, what does Jenna's book of braille say on Pretty Little Liars? Well, we don't know, but whatever it is, it has something to do with this word: "Endgame."

We consulted with Bustle writer Leah Thomas who also took braille in fifth grade. Unfortunately, the show may not have made it that easy to learn what Jenna's book says (or Thomas' elementary school learning may not be up to 2017 snuff, either one. It has been a long time since she took it). Thomas says that, after looking at it, "It makes NO sense and might be backwards." According to Thomas, the first word is "backwards S, either a W or a backwards R, Z, backwards O and the second word is the singular letter Y."

Another person claiming to have experience in braille also reached out to me via Twitter to claim that the page is actually double sided, which is why it appears backwards — it's just the dots being pressed through on the back of the page. "So far, I've translated those to read: 'Solomon and others,'" the Twitter user claimed. "I also see the word 'science' on the second line. It has been extremely hard to decipher."

I wouldn't put it past I. Marlene King to have swapped the braille so that clever fans couldn't ruin the endgame surprise early. Or maybe Jenna's just so used to communicating through metaphors and threatening hints that she and A.D. have a language all their own. Either way, it's impossible to say what Jenna's book in PLL actually says, but I can offer up some pretty good guesses.

After Jenna begins to read the book, she looks up in the direction of A.D. and says, "Endgame." The same word that appeared on the side of the Liar's Lament board game A.D. sent Spencer, Aria, Aly, Emily, and Hanna. Obviously, A.D. is moving towards the end of her master plan, which can only mean bad things ahead for the girls. I'm guessing that Jenna's book held some details on what that Endgame is, and likely the part A.D. wants her to play in it. (Think about it, we know A.D. wouldn't shy away from killing Jenna if need be. What other reason does A.D. have to keep her alive if not to use her down the road?)

Assuming the book holds information on A.D.'s Endgame, the next logical question is: what is A.D.'s Endgame? My guess is that it has something to do with the video of the liars burying Elliott Rollins (or Archer Dunhill), and probably putting them behind bars should they fail to turn over Charlotte's killer — or do whatever it is A.D. wants them to do. It could also just as easily be that A.D. wants to kill them all. At this point, I'm not ruling anything out.
